Columbiana stylists Leigh Langley of Columbiana Barber Shop and Amy Vanzant of Personal Touch Salon are teaming up to bring the Easter Bunny to town for tea, for the second year in a row.
“We are going to dance and snack and snap pictures all morning,” Langley said. “We want families to make memories that will last a lifetime.”
Langley’s vision for this event began a few years ago when the Easter Bunny started showing up just down from her barber shop on the corner of Main and College streets the Saturday before Easter.
The Bunny always brought candy to pass out to families that would stop and snap pictures with the Bunny.
She began thinking about how much her grandchildren loved having tea parties, and decided that a tea party with the Easter Bunny would be great fun.
She enlisted the help of another friend and stylist, Vanzant, and together they made a plan that would not only be fun for families, but would raise money for causes near and dear to them. That’s how the first Easter Bunny Tea Party came to be in 2018.
This year’s white tablecloth event will be full of cookies, cupcakes and punch, all in high fashion tea party style, and, of course, will feature both Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny for the guests to visit with.
“We’ll have fresh flowers and beautiful vintage Easter decorations, some from my own childhood,” Langley said. “Guests can come dressed up or casual. Just come and have a good time.”
She also suggests that moms and dads bring their cameras.
The party will be held April 6 at the Columbiana Senior Center on Mildred Street from 1-3 p.m.
Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased in advance at Personal Touch Salon or Busy Hands Framing and Gift Shop on Main Street.
A portion of ticket sales will go to local charities.
Seating is limited, so she recommends getting tickets in advance.
There will only be tickets sold at the door if they haven’t sold out before the event.
