PELHAM – The Pelham Library Guild’s sixth Taste of Pelham is set for Tuesday, March 19, from 6-8 p.m. at the Pelham Civic Complex.

The event offers food and drink samples from local restaurants, caterers and beverage providers in the area. A total of 27 vendors from Shelby County and abroad will showcase two to three of their signature dishes. Beer and wine will also be available.

The annual event usually draws hundreds of people to the Pelham Civic Complex.

The money raised from the event benefits the Pelham Public Library. In past years, the goal was to raise money to help with construction and furnishing costs associated with the new library. Now that it is open, library guild president Debbie Parrott said the money will be used to purchase more computers, books and other materials to keep the library fresh and current.

“The biggest thing is that it raises awareness for the library,” Parrott said. “Every time I drive by, it brings a smile to my face to see the library parking lot full.”

Taste of Pelham tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Tickets are sold through Eventbright.com, at the Pelham Public Library and Iberia Bank, located at 2695 Pelham Parkway.

Vendors interested in participating in the event should contact library director Mary Campbell at 620-6418 or Mcampbell@pelhamalabama.gov.
