John Charles Bailey, age 88, of Pelham, passed away at home on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019. He was born on May 27, 1930.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Franklin Bailey; mother, Margaret Vernon King; stepfather, Ira Leonard King; brother, John Thornton Bailey; nephew, Michael David Foster; and great-niece, Kelly Foster Keener.

He is survived by sisters, Barbara King Harrison and Jo Lynn Foster, Pelham; brother, James (Jimmy) Bailey, Loganville, Georgia; nephew, Joseph Leonard Booth, Pelham; nieces, Renee Booth Monroe, Crystal Lake, Illinois; Kimberly Foster Allcorn, Maylene; great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Charles was a long time member of Lakeside Methodist Church, formerly Pelham Methodist Church; member of U. S. Armed Forces, Army, during the Korean Conflict; graduate of University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.

Interment in Alabama National Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 15 at 1:15 p.m. Entrusted to Charter Funeral Home.
