PELHAM – A Bessemer man was recently released from the Shelby County Jail after being arrested by the Pelham Police Department and charged with transmission of obscene material and soliciting a child.

 

Tilson Hargrove, 41, who lists an address on Meadow Lake Trail in Bessemer, was arrested by the PPD on Jan. 25 and was released the same day on $30,000 bond. He is charged with two counts of transmission of obscene material to a child and electronic solicitation of a child.

According to court documents, on Tuesday, Jan. 22, Hargrove sent nude pictures of himself from the waist down to a 9-year-old female and asked for nude pictures in return.

Transmission of obscene material and electronic solicitation of a child are Cass B felonies that are punishable upon conviction with a sentence of two to 20 years in prison and fines up to $30,000. Hargrove’s case has been assigned to District Court Judge Daniel Crowson Jr.

A preliminary hearing has been set for Feb. 20 at 8:30 a.m.
