COLUMBIANA – A 36-year-old Alabaster man will remain in the Shelby County Jail without bond after a Shelby County Circuit Court judge denied his request for a bond reinstatement during a Jan. 30 hearing.

Adam Blake Mullins, who lists an address on Eighth Street Southwest in Alabaster, asked Circuit Court Judge Daniel Crowson to reinstate his bond after Mullins was arrested on his third set of drug-related charges in a seven-month period.

In Mullins’ request for bond reinstatement, he claimed he is not guilty of the most recent drug charges brought against him, and said he has a “serious medical condition which requires constant medical care and supervision.”

Crowson denied the bond reinstatement after prosecutors objected to it.

The Alabaster Police Department and the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force most recently arrested Mullins on charges of second-degree possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on Dec. 17, 2018.

Those charges came when he allegedly was found in possession of marijuana, 2.58 grams of cocaine, 0.12 grams of LSD, 3.18 grams of methamphetamine, 1.3 grams of crushed Xanax and a digital scale with marijuana residue at his residence.

Mullins’ December 2018 arrest came a few months after he was arrested by the Drug Enforcement Task Force and charged with two counts of selling cocaine on June 18, 2018. He allegedly sold cocaine on April 20, 2018, and April 27, 2018.

When he was arrested in June 2018, he was out on bond on charges of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, which were brought against him on May 2, 2018.

In the May 2018 arrest, Drug Enforcement Task Force Commander Clay Hammac said Mullins was in possession of multiple assault rifles, other firearms and munitions during the alleged drug sales.

Because he was out on bond for the charges brought against him earlier this year when he was arrested on Dec. 17, 2018, his bond was revoked.
