ALABASTER – Parents looking to enroll their children in Alabaster’s pre-kindergarten lottery will be able to do so over the next several weeks, as the school system recently opened the pre-registration for the 2019-2020 class.

From Jan. 15-March 8, the Alabaster City School System will accept online pre-registrations for the pre-K program at Alprek.asapconnected.com, where parents will be required to submit the child’s birth certificate and proof of residence. More information on the registration process is available at Children.alabama.gov.

Those in need of assistance in accessing the online application process should contact Meadow View Elementary School, Creek View Elementary School or the ACS central office.

Enrollment in the pre-K program is open to all children who will be 4 years old on or before Sept. 2 of this year who reside in Alabaster.

There is no registration fee for the pre-K program, and children chosen for the program will be required to provide an immunization form at the school they are zoned for.

Students are chosen for the program through a random drawing, which will be held on March 20 at 9 a.m. at the ACS central office in Alabaster City Hall at 1953 Municipal Way. Parents do not have to be present at the drawing, and the school system will begin emailing notices to families chosen for the program on April 16.
