With Christmas just a few days away, churches across Shelby County will commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ with various Christmas Eve candlelight services, fellowship and communion.

Shelby County has a large volume of churches that will celebrate one of the holiest days in a variety of ways.

Below is a following list of churches that plan to host Christmas Eve services broken down by city:

Alabaster

–Amazing Grace Worship Center will host Christmas Carols and Communion on Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. to noon.

–Church of the Highlands–Alabaster will host Christmas at Highlands on Dec. 23 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and Dec. 24 at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

–First Baptist Church of Alabaster will host a Silent Lord’s Supper on Dec. 24 at 5 p.m.

–First Presbyterian Church is hosting a Christmas Eve candlelight service and communion on Dec. 24 at 6:30 p.m.

–First United Methodist Church of Alabaster will host its Christmas Eve services on Dec. 24 for children and family at 3 p.m., a traditional candlelight and communion service at 5 p.m. and a contemporary candlelight and communion service at 7 p.m.

–Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit will host its Christmas Eve services on Dec. 24 at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

–Kingwood Church will host its Christmas Communion Service on Dec. 23 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

–Siluria Baptist Church will hold its Christmas Eve candlelight communion service on Dec. 24 at 5 p.m.

–Westwood Baptist Church will host its Christmas Eve candlelight and communion services on Dec. 24 at 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Birmingham

–Asbury United Methodist Church will host its candlelight communion Christmas Eve services on Dec. 24 at 4 p.m., 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.

–Christ the King Lutheran Church will host Christmas Eve services at 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

–Church of the Highlands–Greystone will host Christmas at Highlands on Dec. 20 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., Dec. 21 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., Dec. 23 at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Dec. 24 at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Check Churchofthehighlands.com to make a reservation. Some timeslots may be filled.

–The Church at Brook Hills will host Christmas Eve gatherings on Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

–Christ Church United Methodist will host Christmas Eve candlelight services on Dec. 24 with a traditional ceremony at 4 p.m. and contemporary at 6 p.m.

–Double Oak Community Church will host its Christmas Eve candlelight services on Dec. 24 at 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

–Meadow Brook Baptist Church will host Christmas Eve candlelight services on Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

–North Shelby Baptist Church will host candles, carols and communion on Dec. 24 from 5-5:45 p.m.

–Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church will host its Christmas Eve services on Dec. 24 at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

–Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church will host mass on Dec. 24 at 4 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Mass will also be held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 25.

–Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church will host mass on Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

–Valleydale Church will host its Christmas Eve candlelight service on Dec. 24 from 4-5 p.m.

Calera

–Church on the Rock will host its Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 from 5-6 p.m.

–Concord Baptist Church will host a Christmas Eve service on Dec. 23 at 10:30 a.m. and a Christmas Eve candlelight service on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m.

Chelsea

–Grace Presbyterian Church will host its Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m.

–Liberty Baptist Church will host its Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 4 p.m.

–Morningstar United Methodist Church will host its modern Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. and classic Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m.

–St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church will host its Christmas services on Dec. 24 at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Columbiana

–First Baptist Church of Columbiana will host its Christmas Eve candlelight service on Dec. 24 at 5:30 p.m.

Helena

–Grace Christian Church will host its Christmas Eve candlelight service on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m.

–Helena Cumberland Presbyterian Church will host its Christmas Eve candlelight service on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m.

–Helena United Methodist Church will host its Christmas Eve services at 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.

–Christ Community Church will host its Christmas Eve candlelight service on Dec. 24 at 5 p.m.

Montevallo

–Dogwood Grove Baptist Church will host a vesper and communion service on Dec. 25 at 6 p.m.

–Montevallo Presbyterian Church will host its Christmas Eve communion service on Dec. 24 at 5 p.m.

Pelham

–First Baptist Church of Pelham will host its Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 5 p.m.

–Indian Springs Baptist Church will host its Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 5 p.m.

–Lakeview First United Methodist Church will host a communion service on Dec. 24 at 6 p.m.

–Sun View Baptist Church will hold a special evening Christmas service on Dec. 23 at 6 p.m.

–The Connection Church will a live nativity event on Dec. 23 at 10 a.m. and a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24.
