PELHAM – On Jan. 19, 2019, Glenn Wills, author of “Forgotten Alabama,” will visit the Pelham Public Library at 1 p.m. to share with residents information and images of neglected places in Alabama.
Wills’ presentation will feature photographs that he took of abandoned objects and places from around the state of Alabama. The presentation is a part of the library’s effort to celebrate the state’s 200th birthday in 2019.
“His haunting and poignant photographs are included on his personal blog and on his Facebook page. Wills traveled thousands of miles, visiting every county in Alabama to capture these places on film and to share his experiences. His efforts eventually coalesced in the creation of two books,” according to a news release about the program.
He is currently working on his third book in the series, which will feature older structures from the early days of Alabama’s statehood. This event is an opportunity to hear his story, see a presentation of his work and celebrate the bicentennial of the state.
Books will be on sale for signing afterward. This event is free to attend, but seating is limited. To reserve a seat, call the library at 620-6418.
