ALABASTER – The Alabaster police and fire departments soon will be getting equipment for their recently ordered new vehicles, after the City Council approved a few bids for the equipment during their Dec. 3 meeting.
Council members voted unanimously during the meeting to approve three bids for the purchases.
Once the equipment arrives, it will be used on several vehicles the council purchased for the departments in October, which will be delivered in the coming months.
Council members approved a $58,870 bid from the national IPA purchasing co-op to purchase 10 Panasonic dash cameras for new Alabaster Police Department vehicles, and approved a $26,846 bid from a state bid list to purchase 10 rugged Dell computers to outfit the new APD vehicles.
During the meeting, the council also voted to approve a $37,156 bid from the NAFECO company to provide equipment such as a hose, tools, water appliances and nozzles for a pumper truck set to be delivered to the Alabaster Fire Department in January 2019.
