Friday morning I-65 wreck kills Shelby woman

CALERA – A wreck on Interstate 65 Northbound, near exit 231, claimed the life of a 24-year-old woman on Friday, Nov. 30, according to State Troopers.
At about 6:48 a.m. ALEA State Troopers were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on I-65. The vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment. The driver, Cayla Willis, of Shelby, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Willis was pronounced dead on the scene by Shelby County Coroner Lina Evans. The crash is still under investigation by State Troopers.
