Have you wanted to take art classes but don’t have the time for a weekly class?
Check out the one-day workshops at the Shelby County Arts Council.
We offer a variety of workshops focused on students creating a finished piece of art work in just a matter of hours.
All ages and skill levels are welcome in any of our workshops.
On Thursday, Nov. 8, Chris Cruz is back with the Acrylic Mixed Media Workshop from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Express your creativity in this fun and relaxed workshop.
The cost is $75, and all supplies are provided. Our local “Tree Man,” Brian Bohanan, is teaching a fun and funky Folk Art Tree painting workshop on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m-12 p.m.
In this workshop, students will use reclaimed materials to create their own unique folk art painting. The cost is $100 and all supplies are included.
And on Nov. 17, Nita McGlawn joins us for the Iron Clad Collage workshop.
Show your team spirit with an Alabama or Auburn themed football collage using mono prints, stencils and fancy papers.
Students are even encouraged to bring their own memorabilia to personalize their collage.
The cost is $75 and all supplies are provided.
All workshops will take place at the Shelby County Arts Council.
