PELHAM – Research Solutions Group, Inc., a full-service chemical distributor located in Pelham Industrial Park, conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 10, to commemorate the company’s new multi-million-dollar chemical terminal facility on Parker Drive.

The ceremony for the state-of-the-art facility symbolized Research Solutions’s commitment to meet the needs of its customers, grow the business, and create more jobs in Pelham. Research Solutions, a privately held family company, has occupied a 3-acre parcel in Pelham Industrial Park since 1974, just three years after the company’s inception. The original facility served as the headquarters and corporate branch of the multi-site company for several decades.

After continued company growth and an increased need for space, Research Solutions’s CEO, Jeff Miller, decided to purchase a 10-acre parcel on the corner of Parker Drive and Industrial Park Drive, directly across the street from the prior facility.

The company broke ground on the new project on March 12, 2017. Dunn Building Company served as general contractor for the project, and MW Industrial Services served as the industrial contractor for the integration of tanks and controls system. After 14 months of construction and implementation of the facility, Research Solutions moved its chemical distribution services into the completed terminal, and began operations on June 4.

From this facility, the company serves its many customers throughout the Southeast and offers a product line that reaches all 48 continental United States. The ribbon-cutting ceremony provided an opportunity to honor the efforts of everyone who helped in the completion of the new facility.

Company President Rick Higginbotham publicly thanked Pelham Mayor Gary Waters and the City Council for their support throughout the project, as well as the company’s employees, customers, friends and family who supported and encouraged the growth of the business through the years.

CEO Jeff Miller spoke to the crowd about the history of the company, the features of the new terminal facility and the company’s vision for the future.
