Dickie Drake was re-elected to the Alabama House of Representatives for District 45 on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Drake, a Republican candidate, received 8,717 votes in Shelby County, or 75.3 percent, to 2,847 votes, or 24.6 percent, for Democrat challenger Jenn Gray, with provisional ballots yet to be counted.
Results from Jefferson County were not immediately available.
“During my tenure at the statehouse I’ve tried my best to carry your conservative values with me on every trip to Montgomery,” Drake said in a statement to Shelby County Reporter. “We’ve accomplished a great deal, but we must continue to make our state better. I will keep fighting for low taxes. I’m proud of my 100 percent voting record to protect the unborn, and I’ll always defend the Second Amendment and your constitutional gun rights.”
