NORTH SHELBY – A pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing U.S. 280 during the early morning hours of Tuesday, Oct. 16.

Birmingham Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Johnny Williams Jr. said the incident occurred at about 12:46 a.m. near Cahaba Park Circle.

The victim, a 41-year-old female, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Her identity has not been released pending notification of immediate family, Williams said.

The victim was struck be a vehicle traveling eastbound.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with investigators, Williams said.
