CHELSEA – A three-vehicle wreck the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 9, on Shelby County 47 near Shelby County 69 killed one person.

The crash occurred at about 6:35 a.m., when a vehicle crossed the center line of Shelby County 47, also known as Chelsea Road, and struck another vehicle, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

One of the drivers was pronounced dead on the scene.

The identity of the deceased was not released pending notification of next of kin.

The wreck is under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.

Chelsea Road was closed following the wreck, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, and was re-opened about 10:30 a.m.
