PHENIX CITY – Not even a 59-yard completion on a fake punt pass was enough for Kingwood’s football team to overcome host Glenwood Academy on Friday, Oct. 5, as the Lions suffered a 31-18 defeat.

Kingwood still has two region games remaining, at Morgan Academy on Oct. 12 and at Bessemer Academy on Oct. 19.

On Oct. 5, Garrett Picklesimer completed 11 passes in 28 attempts for 153 yards.

Antonio Ruiz caught three passes for 73 yards, and Garrett Helmers caught four passes for 43 yards.

Tyler West rushed 12 times for 97 yards, and Peyton Long rushed nine times for 137 yards.
