NORTH SHELBY – Diapers are an expensive necessity.

One in three families in our community struggle with “diaper need” or the inability to provide enough diapers to keep their baby clean and dry.

Bundles of Hope is Birmingham’s diaper bank, consistently and reliably addressing diaper need in our community for the past three years.

Bundles of Hope distributes around 30,000 diapers each month by partnering with over 25 local organizations including, food pantries and women’s centers.

The organization’s Fourth Annual Stuff the Bus event will be located off U.S. 280 on the gravel easement below the Target Shopping Center with the kick-off to the 10-day drive taking place on Friday, Sept. 21.

This event is running in conjunction with Diaper Need Awareness Week, proclaimed by Mayor Woodfin as well as Governor Ivey.

The goal is to fill the bus with 200,000 diapers and bring awareness to this often overlooked basic need.

Around 20 diaper drives throughout the community (this includes local cities, businesses, schools, and churches) are being coordinated.

There will be food trucks on site daily as well as activities for kiddos.

Bundles of Hope accepts diapers in new as well as opened packages, size newborn through 6 and Pull-ups.

The sizes most needed by clients are 4, 5, 6 and Pull-ups.

Bundles of Hope is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that relies solely on community support through diaper drives and monetary donations to provide a week’s supplement of diapers per child to families struggling financially.

As a member of the National Diaper Bank Network, Bundles of Hope is able to purchase diapers at a reduced cost and have them shipped to their warehouse located within Christian Service Mission where all their diapers are bundled and stored.
