Sixteen candidates are slated to interview to become the next member of the Hoover School Board. Board President Suzy Baker didn’t reapply for her seat, which will become available at the end of May.

The Hoover City Council will appoint Baker’s replacement.

The sixteen candidates are:

-Kathy Boswell, community relations representative with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

-Ronald Braswell, associate professor in the UAB Department of Ophthalmology.

-Linda Garrett, adjunct instructor in the UAB School of Education.

-Dominic Gentile, adjunct professor at Huntingdon College.

-Helen Gulas, senior project manager for DST Health Solutions.

-Russell Jackson, founder of Partners for a Cause and Kid One Transport.

-David Kennamer, a teacher, coach and bus driver at Pinson Valley High School.

-William Martin, retired plumber and locksmith with the Hoover School System.

-Treva Medbery, former quality assurance specialist with Tallahassee Memorial -Healthcare.

-Rebecca O’Brien, substitute teacher with the Hoover School System.

-Paulette Pearson, a consultant and former college admissions counselor with the Hoover School System.

-Wayne Rogers, managing attorney for the law firm of Rogers and Associates.

-Michael Shepherd, an account executive with Computer Technology Solutions.

-Bathsheba Todd-Ellers, substitute teacher with the Hoover School System.

-Millard Williams, substitute teacher with the Hoover School System.

-Gregory Yaghmai, founding partner with the law firm of Rutledge and Yaghmai.
