CHELSEA – The city of Chelsea passed an ordinance to declare one of its properties as a surplus and authorize its sale at a regularly scheduled council meeting on Tuesday, May 1.
Members of the city council unanimously voted in favor of authorizing the former Chelsea Fire Station on Chesser Drive.
While Mayor Tony Picklesimer did not go into much detail about plans for the building, he said it will be the new location of a restaurant with a theme that reflects its past.
“The old fire station that sits close to Applebee’s will, sometime in the very near future, be a new restaurant with a fire station theme,” Picklesimer said. “That’s all I’m going to tell you for now, but we’re looking forward to seeing that construction and renovation, getting it back to what a fire station is supposed to and getting that restaurant open.
