PRATTVILLE – A Columbiana man was killed in a single-vehicle collision that occurred at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 6. The collision occurred near the intersection of Dean Drive on Autauga County 82.

The victim was identified as 50-year-old Ambrose Wood, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Wood was killed after the 2003 Hyundai Sonata he was driving left the roadway and overturned. Because Wood was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, he was ejected from the vehicle.

An infant passenger was also ejected from the vehicle. The infant sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

At the time of the wreck, ALEA stated that the Prattville Police Department was attempting to pull Wood over and Wood was refusing.

The accident is currently under investigation by ALEA.
