PELHAM – Pelham children will have two opportunities to participate in an Easter egg hunt, with the city’s annual egg hunt and Oak Mountain State Park’s 11^th Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Market, both of which take place on March 31.

The city’s annual egg hunt, which is free to attend, will kick off at 9 a.m. at the youth football field at Pelham City Park. Parks and Recreation Director Billy Crandall said Pelham police officers will be at the event to help spread 10,500 candy-filled eggs across the field.

The Easter Bunny is also scheduled to be at the event to meet and take pictures with kids.

The field will be sectioned off for ages 0-5, 6-11 and 12 and above. Participants should bring their own Easter baskets to collect eggs.

After gathering eggs at City Park, families can make their way to OMSP’s Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the South Trailhead Field.

In addition to an egg hunt, the event will feature glove trained education birds from the Alabama Wildlife Center, hay rides, bounce houses and games such as corn hole and tic tac toe. All of these events will be free to the public.

Ponies from the Rusted Roof Barn will be at the event offering pony rides for $5 per ride. They will also have Cricket, the miniature Unicorn, on site for pictures. Pictures will be $1 and will go to the Alabama Wildlife Center as a donation.

Local craftsmen, artisans, boutiques, bakeries, brand representatives and food trucks will be set up and selling Easter and spring themed goodies. Food vendors and food trucks will also be at the event, and a food court will be set up for families to enjoy a meal together.

Regular OMSP entrance fees will apply. The Easter egg hunt will be for children ages 0-12.
