Daryl Dorough, age 43, of Chelsea, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29 at Redemption Church at K-Springs. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30 at the church with Rev. Aaron Knight. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.
Mr. Dorough was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Westover. He was employed by Southern Fastenings in Pelham and was a 1994 graduate of Chelsea High School. He loved and enjoyed people and always was the life of a crowd.
He was an avid worker, fun to be around, enjoyed working on any tool or vehicle, enjoyed hunting and fishing, mud riding in his jeep, and no job was too big for him to handle. He served as a boat captain for many fishing tournaments with the Chelsea High School Anglers with his son.
Mr. Dorough is preceded in death by his daddy, Jurnal H. Dorough; sister, Marilyn Marie Dorough; and grandparents, James Otis (O.D.) and Cludie Dorough, and Zollie and Dovie Falkner.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Rebecca Dorough; son, Quintin Dorough; mother, Novia Falkner Dorough; brother, David Dorough (Pam); nieces and nephews, Josh Dorough (Melissa), Daniel Dorough, Jonathan Dorough, Kenzie, Kaleb, Kobe, and Annaliesa Thomason; special brothers, Abdo Amer, Brian Thomason, and David Looney; special sister, Marnetta Moore; sister-in-law, Elaine Thomason; special aunts and uncles, Mary Ellen and Greg Roach, Shelia and Ken White, Albert and Shirley Falkner, and Anthony and Sue Falkner; and father and mother-in-law, Buddy and Nell Skelton.
