The Shelby County Arts Council is pleased welcome back storyteller Dolores Hydock as she tells a collection of stories of hope and possibility and the simple things that keeps us going no matter how crazy the world gets.

Hydock is a nationally known and award-winning storyteller who conveys stories through new and interesting ways. Her captivating movements and unique technique of storytelling engages audience and allows them to become immersed in the story.

Hydock is a native of Reading, Pennsylvania, and she grew up around books and stories that inspired her to become a storyteller. She won her first storyteller competition at age 5, telling a story about fairytales.

However, it wasn’t until she moved to the South that she found a new style of storytelling – the front-porch style. These stories are about real-life experiences, which allowed her to develop her own unique way of storytelling.

Dolores Hydock: It Could Happen! Stories of Hope and Possibility will be presented on Nov. 12 at the Shelby County Arts Council Black Box Theatre. The show starts at 2 p.m.; however, the doors will open at 1:30 p.m. Tickets for the show are $25 and are available online on the Shelby County Arts Council website.
