COLUMBIANA – Deputies from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of possible human remains, which were located near Egg and Butter Road and Oak Drive in Columbiana, on Thursday, Nov. 2.

The remains have been determined to be the body of a white female. The body has currently not been identified and the circumstances leading up to her death and why her body was found in the area are currently unknown.

According to a press release from the SCSO, deputies are currently conducting an investigation.
