A Shelby County woman was sentenced to over 24 years in prison for producing child pornography in 2015 on Tuesday, Oct. 17, according to U.S. Attorney Jay E. Town and Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Johnnie Sharp Jr.
Jennifer Lynne Galloway, 34, of Shelby County was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge R. David Proctor to 24 years and six months in prison on one count of producing child pornography of an eight-year-old relative. Galloway pleaded guilty last June.
Galloway sent photos she had taken of the child to a man she had known as Cory Haynes. Galloway had allegedly met him on the Internet.
According to his plea agreement with federal prosecutors, the man’s true identity is Brian Wayne Ray, 55, of Trussville.
FBI investigators discovered the pornography that Galloway had produced attached to emails between Ray and a man who resided in Washington D.C., as well as other images of child pornography within Ray’s email account.
On Oct. 11, Ray pleaded guilty to one count of distributing child pornography using the Internet and an email account in March 2016 and one count of possession of child pornography from February 14, 2016 to July 5, 2016, in Jefferson County.
Ray’s sentencing is scheduled for Jan 23, 2018. He will face between five and 20 years in prison.
The case was investigated by the FBI and is prosecuted by U.S. Attorney Erica Williamson Barnes.
