Broken water pipe cuts service to Pelham residents

PELHAM – A 12-inch broken water pipe caused a water outage in several neighborhoods throughout Pelham, according to the city.
The outage, which occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, July 24, impacted several areas including Shelby County 11, Shelby County 33, Shelby County 35, Shelby County 68, Shelby County 52 and some of the Weatherly neighborhood.
According to an update from the city, the problem has been identified and isolated. The Pelham Water Department has been on site since the break was discovered working to repair the pipe.
Customers in the impacted areas should begin to receive water service soon, according to an update from the city.
“We know this is an inconvenience for you, and we’re sorry for that,” the Pelham Police Department wrote in a Facebook post. “We’ll keep you updated when we have new information to share.”
