Helena Beautification Board announces May residence award

HELENA–The Helena Beautification Board is excited to announce the Helena Beautification Award for May has been awarded to Charles and Mary Butler at 179 River Oaks Drive.
Driving through Riverwoods, the Butlers’ landscape is sure to catch the eye with precision trimmed hedges and stunning colors of flowers lining the front porch. Residents of Helena for six years, Mr. and Mrs. Butler, retired assistant principal at Hoover High School and retired teacher at Mount Olive Elementary respectively, take immense pride in their property along with the joy it brings to others.
The Butlers’ landscape consists of bright pink and yellow snap dragon, pansies, boxwoods lining the driveway and holly bushes that shape up the edges of the driveway and corner of the house. A berm on the side of their property leading down to the house is lined with rows of juniper, Double Knock Out roses, oakleaf hydrangeas, crepe myrtles and loropetalum.
Each month, nominations will be accepted until the 25th with the winner being selected and notified at the first of the following month. The winner of each month will be able to proudly display a yard sign for the month, have their picture and house published on the Helena Beautification website, Helena Beautiful Facebook page and in the local press.

The Helena Beautification Board is an appointed board of the Helena City Council. The Board believes that people and places are profoundly connected and thriving communities are rooted in individual responsibility and action.
