NORTH SHELBY – Members of North Shelby Baptist Church invite all area children to an Easter Egg Hunt on April 8 from 1-3 p.m.

And according to Children’s and Preschool Minister Julie Donavan, boys and girls, preschool through grade five, will be entertained by many activities.

“The older children, grades 1-5, will have a ‘black light’ egg hunt in the youth area inside,” Donavan said. “They’ll use glow sticks, and the eggs will shine in the dark. It’s a little different but will be fun.”

The younger children will hunt eggs outdoors on the church campus, she said.

The day’s events will commence with a brief gospel presentation.

Additionally, the egg hunt will feature horse and pony rides, a petting zoo, an inflatable bouncer, a puppet show and food.

All candies given to the children will be free of nuts out of concern for allergies.

“All the children need to bring is a basket,” Donavan said. “We want the boys and girls to have a good time, and along with their parents, and to enjoy food and fellowship at our church.”

Donavan will soon celebrate her first anniversary at North Shelby after moving from the Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Trussville.

North Shelby Baptist Church is located just off U.S. 280 at 4100 Belcher Drive.
