The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office located Maylene resident Regina Voyles about four hours after she was initially reported missing. According to SCSO Captain Jeff Hartley, finding her was a collaborative effort between the SCSO, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, County 17 Fire and Rescue and state troopers.
“We were especially concerned because of the weather and the time of year,” Hartley said.
Voyles was last seen on Brantley Lake Road at 11 a.m., shortly before she was reported as missing. She was described as a Caucasian female with long, grey hair. She was reported to have been wearing a white sweatshirt with blue, horizontal stripes and jogging pants.
About four hours later, Voyles was located within a close range of where she was last seen.
“We were just very fortunate to be able to find her,” Hartley said.
Hartley said Voyles is currently safe and alive, and has been reunited with her family.
“I know the [Shelby County] Sheriff’s Office wants to thank everybody who was involved in helping find her,” Hartley said.
