HELENA–The city of Helena will once again celebrate the holiday season with the 46th annual Christmas Parade slated for Saturday, Dec. 3.
The theme for this year’s parade is “Put the fire out… Santa’s coming,” as the parade will honor the city’s fire department for the outstanding service they provide to Helena residents.
The actual parade will begin at 1 p.m., but the lineup of the floats will begin as early as 9 a.m. All floats must be in place and ready to be judged by 11 a.m.
Another fun thing Helena residents can do before the parade begins is visit Sassy Sisters Boutique in Helena for a meet and greet with Miss Alabama Hayley Barber.
Barber will be at the boutique from 10 a.m. to noon taking photos and meeting with members of the community.
“I encourage moms to bring their daughters and to bring their cameras to come and make their picture with Miss Alabama,” boutique owner Jo Ellen Ramsey said.
Sassy Sisters is located at 4290 Shelby County 52 next to Golden Rule Barbecue.
Anyone wishing to enter the parade must download a form on the city’s website.
Entrants must include their name, contact address, telephone and an introduction that the announcer will make.
Completed forms can be emailed to kym@cityofhelena.org or turned in at Helena City Hall before 9 a.m. on Dec. 3.
Forms can be found at Cityofhelena.org/Default.asp?ID=189&pg=Christmas+Parade+Info.
