HELENA–First Baptist Church of Helena will host its inaugural Church Ministry Bazaar to help benefit the church’s sewing ministry.
The Bazaar will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 8 a.m. to noon in the church parking lot located at 815 Shelby County 52 East.
Many handmade items will be available for purchase including aprons, lap quilts, fabric bags, lap quilts for those suffering from Alzheimer’s, stroke or autism, pillowcases and other girls’ dresses, boys shorts, placemats, microwave baking bags and more.
“This will be just like a yard sale and anyone is invited to come out to the Bazaar,” said Anne Koenig, member of First Baptist Church. “The sewing ministry at the church was started several years ago to make lap quilts for people in assisted living and things of that nature. Our goal is to raise money to help keep our sewing machines in service. We have several sewing machines that were donated and sometimes the service to fix these machines can be costly.”
Other items at the Bazaar include numerous fabrics, yards, patterns, books and other miscellaneous items.
