Redesigned level means more space and updated look

When the Hoover Library opened in 1992, Library Director Linda Andrews included groundbreaking ideas in the library’s floor plan including two art galleries, meeting room spaces and The Library Theatre and Box Office on the Theatre Level of the library.
Many Hoover residents use the meeting rooms on a monthly basis, and patrons from surrounding areas enjoy viewing artwork by local and regional artists and attending performances in The Library Theatre.
To better serve you, our patrons, the Theatre Level of the Hoover Library is getting a makeover. The meeting room and art gallery spaces will be renovated during the months of August and September. A redesign of the Theatre Level art gallery area and meeting rooms will mean more function and event space, as well as an updated look.
Flexible partitions will be installed, allowing the entire meeting room and gallery space to be opened up and utilized as one area for large events, allowing up to 250 guests to meet and mingle.
The moveable partitions will also be used to create two meeting areas, the Fitzgerald Room and the Shakespeare Room. New audiovisual equipment will be available in the meeting rooms, too. All Hoover residents who are members of a not-for-profit organization can reserve a meeting room.
Through the end of September, the Theatre Level will be inaccessible to library patrons. Please call 444-7888 to reach the Arts Department staff to assist you with meeting rooms, art gallery inquiries and the upcoming Library Theatre season information.
