Joseph Shane Goodwin, age 40, of Demopolis, passed away Friday, June 17.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, at The Branch at Mission Hill with Bro. Brook Lovett, Pastor Brandon Doss, and Bro. David Warren officiating.  Visitation will be from noon – 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the church. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Gardens. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Shane was the minister of the First Christian Church in Demopolis and was active in the youth baseball league where he served as an umpire. He also worked for Demopolis City Schools where he served as director of the supervised alternative placement program.

Mr. Goodwin is preceded in death by his grandparents, Anne Battle, and JC and Louise Goodwin.

He is survived by his son, Michael Shane Goodwin; mother, Darlene Carlisle; father, Joey Goodwin (Judy); sister, Kelly Johnstone (Barkely); step-brother, Kevin Gentry; step-sister, Taunea Green (Chuck); nieces, Rileigh and Weslie Johnstone; grandfather, Ralph Battle; and numerous other family and friends.
