THS cheerleaders earn slew of summer awards

ALABASTER – The Thompson High School varsity, junior varsity and freshmen cheer squads brought several new pieces of hardware home to Alabaster after winning several awards during a Universal Cheerleaders Association summer camp.
The THS cheer squads recently competed in the UCA camp in Tuscaloosa from May 31-June 3, and won first place overall in their divisions.
The varsity team competed in the large varsity division during the camp, and earned the following awards:
-Xtreme Routine Dance: First place
-Cheer: First place
-Sideline: Second place
-Overall: First place
The varsity team is coached by Emily Smith and Heather Myles, and is composed of Allie Adams (captain), Camryn Anthony (captain), Maddie Black, Caroline Camp, Tyler Emerson, Morgan Estes, Mallory Evans, Cassidy Geeslin, Grace Gilbert, Katelyn Glover, Peri Gregg, Sydney Hall, Anna Kate Mazingo, Mallory Moore, Julia Nichols, Lauren Phillips, Becca Ponstein, Jillian Pritchard, Mallory Stubbs, Lexi Tackaberry, Taylor Thomas, Brooke Thornton, Brittany Trader, Meri Blake Waldrop (captain), Kera Wells and Kate Workman.
The freshmen and junior varsity teams combined at the camp to compete in the large junior varsity division, and won the following awards:
-Xtreme Routine Dance: Second place
-Cheer: First place
-Sideline: Second place
-Overall: First place
The junior varsity team is coached by Whittley Hopper, and is composed of Lexi Alton, Hannah Bachman, Alyssa Brown,Jenna Mitchell,Caitlin Pertile, Kelsey Robinson,Ally Rogers, Alaina Stock, Emily Stovall and Ana Zito.
The freshmen team is coached by Angie Glover, and is composed of Camalie Allen, Dominique Chatman, Blakely Channell, Courtney Crumpton, Emma Gilbert, Piper Higgins, Adeline Lee, Elizabeth Sutton and Kylie Williams.
