ALABASTER – After a three-year hiatus, Alabaster’s Cultivate Church is bringing its helicopter Easter egg drop back to the city this weekend.
Cultivate Church held helicopter Easter egg drops in 2012 and 2013 at Larry Simmons Stadium before taking a short hiatus from the event. The previous two drops drew several thousand people.
This year’s drop will see a change of venue from Larry Simmons Stadium to Veterans Park off Alabama 119, and will feature multiple drops for different age groups.
Gates will open at Veterans Park at 9 a.m. on March 26, and children will be able to register from then until the event begins at 10:30 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m., the church will hold an Easter egg hunt for children ages 3 and younger, and will then hold helicopter egg drops for children ages 4-6 and another for children ages 7-12.
In total, the free event will feature about 20,000 candy-filled eggs, as well as free food, inflatable games, a visit from the Easter bunny and more.
Those looking to skip the registration line the day of the egg drops can do so at Theeggdrop.tv.
