Helena hosting Pancake Day Feb. 27

HELENA–The Kiwanis Club of Helena has announced that Saturday, Feb. 27, as the date of the 12th annual Pancake Day of Helena. The community social and eating event will be at Helena Elementary School from 7 a.m. until noon.
Steaming hot pancakes with butter and syrup, sausage or bacon and a beverage of choice is will be available to those attending. Sugar free syrup will also be available.
Putting on such a large community event requires many hands. Kiwanians and members of HES PTO, Boy Scout Troop 2 and Key Clubs of Helena, Pelham, Thompson and Evangel High Schools will all be volunteering.
Tickets are available for $5 from any of these folks or may be purchased at the door.
The Kiwanis Club encourages those wishing to avoid crowds to arrive between 7-8 a.m. or 11 a.m. to noon.
All profits from Pancake Day are dedicated to the PTO, the Kiwanis-sponsored groups listed above and projects to benefit youth in the community.
Helena Kiwanis has used profits in the past to help build the boundless playground in Joe Tucker Park, sponsor scholarships for young people, provide books and read at the local Head Start Program, help provide Wifi at HES and various other projects benefitting young people.
