James “Butch” W. Wyatt

James “Butch” W. Wyatt, age 72, of Shelby, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7.
He graduated from Chilton County High School and in his younger years Butch coached little league football in Jemison. He loved working with the children and remembered the young men he coached. After retirement, he enjoyed time at the lake and hanging out with his friends there.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Steve and Gene Wyatt; parents, Leonard and Annie Pearl Wyatt and sister, Geraldine West.
His survivors include his wife of 54 years, Donna Wyatt; daughters, Renae Dean (Sam) of Calera and Donna Marie Wyatt (Kyle Cook) of Clanton; son, Jim Wyatt (Susan) of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Merylin Scarbrough of Calera; brother, Charles Wyatt (Margaret) of Thorsby; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4:30-7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 14 with a funeral mass to follow at 7 p.m., both at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 80 St. Thomas Way, Montevallo. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan.15 at Midway Memorial Garden, Highway 31, Jemison.
