ALABASTER – The city’s waste collection company, Advanced Disposal, will begin a new schedule on Jan. 4 to allow for daily recycling collection throughout the city, and city leaders are encouraging residents to take note of the new routes.

Before Jan. 4, Advanced Disposal collected trash on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and collected all recycling on Wednesdays.

Beginning on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, the company will begin collecting trash and recycling on the same day, and will expand its garbage collection to all five weekdays.

Alabaster City Manager George Henry said all customers whose collection day moved to Wednesday were directly mailed a notification previously.

After Jan. 4, Advanced Disposal will collect trash and recycling in the following areas each weekday:

 

Mondays:

Shelby County 11, Simmsville, Weatherly, Siluria, Old U.S. 31, Fogle Lakes, Saddle Lakes, Saginaw, Shelby County 26 past Wisteria, block of Scottsdale closest to Shelby County 26, The Grove, Shelby County 12 with Dogwood Forest and Stagecoach Trace.

 

Tuesdays:

Shelby County 264 from Norwick Forest, Sterling Gate, Winterhaven north to First Avenue and west of 10th Street, Fox Valley, Shelby County 17 south to Shelby County 26 Lake Forest.

 

Wednesdays:

Greenfield off Industrial Road, numbered streets surrounding First Baptist Alabaster and Fire Station No. 1 down 10th and Eighth streets to Sixth Avenue, Shelby County 264 – Applegate, Cambridge Point, Tahiti Circle, Park Place on Shelby County 26 and down to Shelby County 12 East (Smokey Road) with Scottsdale, Dale Drive, Wooten and Robinson and south to Silver Creek.

 

Thursdays:

North of Industrial Road and east of Shelby County 95, Navajo Hills, Navajo Pines, U.S. 31 from Second Place to Shelby County 68 and down to Lake Terrace.

 

Fridays:

Shelby County 26 from Kentwood west to Shelby County 17 and south to Big Oak, Grandview, Shelby County 80, Alabama 119 South from Shelby County 12 to Park Forest, Meadowlark, Golden Meadows, Shelby Farms and Southfield Gardens.
