MONTEVALLO – The Montevallo women’s golf team announced the signing of Lacy Sheldon as a part of the 2016 signing class.

Sheldon will enroll at the University in the fall of 2016 after graduating from Legacy Christian Academy in Dallas, Texas.

Sheldon has enjoyed a lot of success throughout her career.  In her four-year prep career she has been named the MVP for Legacy Christian the past three years.

As a sophomore Sheldon finished second in the individual standings at the Texas Class 3A state golf tournament in 2014.  After her impressive sophomore performance she helped Legacy Christian win their second consecutive state title and a third place individual finish in the larger Class 4A.

Sheldon has also won two district championships and has enjoyed numerous top-five finishes including the individual championship at the Starburst Junior Golf Tournament and a third place finish at the Texas-Oklahoma Junior Golf Tournament.

“We are really excited to have Lacy joining our team,” Montevallo women’s golf coach Justin Pratt said. “She will make a great addition to the roster we currently have and will be able to come in and has the potential to make an immediate impact on our program.  Lacy has proven she can compete at a high level and we are excited to have her here at Montevallo.”
