Man arrested on charges of robbery, strangulation

CALERA— The Calera Police Department responded to reports of an altercation Nov. 13 and arrested Brandon Nunn on charges of first-degree robbery and domestic violence.
According to his arrest warrant, 31-year-old Nunn allegedly “grabbed the victim around the throat and held her until she passed out.” The warrant also states that Nunn was attempting to steal the victim’s cell phone while armed with a handgun.
Nunn, who lists an address on Ivie Childress Road in Jemison, is being held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $25,000.
First-degree robbery is a Class A felony and domestic violence by strangulation is a Class B felony. According to Alabama state law, the suspect could spend up to life in prision if convicted.
