Ester Mizzell Chesser, age 88, of Chelsea, died Sunday, Nov. 1.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Liberty Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Cox and Bro. Wayne Honeycutt officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the church. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.

Mrs. Chesser was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for 70 years, sixth grade teacher at Chelsea Elementary for 44 years, Sunday School Teacher and WMU President. Mrs. Chesser graduated from Isabella High School, University of Montevallo with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Education from U.A.B.

Mrs. Chesser was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Chesser, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, June Marie Niven (S. Earl Niven, Sr.); son, Daniel Pierce Chesser (Lisa); grandchildren, Samuel Earl Niven, Jr. (Gay), Chesley Brandon Niven (Amanda), Darryl Chesser (Amanda), Tyler Chesser, and Heath Chesser; great grandchildren, Ashleigh Donaldson (Shawn), Caroline Hairston (Austin), Denise Niven, Samuel Niven, III, Parker Barnes, and Kelli Barnes; great-great grandchildren, Chesley Hairston and Logan Donaldson; brothers, Jack Mizzell, Joe Bob Mizzell and numerous other family and friends.
