Vaughn Sparks, age 79, of Shelby, died Monday, Sept. 7.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 9 at First Baptist Church of Shelby with Bro. Joel Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Shelby Garden of Rest. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8 at Bolton Funeral Home. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.
Mr. Vaughn is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ollie Sparks; great grandson, Jackson Jones; and brother, Thomas Sparks.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Sparks; daughter, Kathy Cox; brother, Tex Sparks; grandchildren, Jason (Mary Beth) Cox and Amanda (Sonny) Jones; great grandchildren, Tommy Cox, Tyler Jones, Jordan McDonald, Garrett Jones, and Emma Grace Jones; sister-in-law, Betty Sparks; nieces and nephew, Kelia, Paul, and Karen; and numerous other family and friends.
