All lanes of Shelby County 47, also known as Chelsea Road, have been reopened to traffic as of 8:41 p.m.

The roadway had been closed to motorists earlier in the evening following a reported natural gas leak on Shelby County 47 between Shelby County 39 and Chesser Crane Road.

According to a news release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, crews from Alagasco are still working on the natural gas leak in the area between Shelby County 39 and Chesser Crane Road on Shelby County 47. The SCSO urges motorists to use caution if driving through that area.
