COLUMBIANA – A 38-year-old Maylene man is facing up to 20 years in prison after he was arrested and charged with three counts of distributing amphetamine in Columbiana and Alabaster.

The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested Jeffery Paul Jolly, who lists an address on Longmeadow Way in Maylene, and charged him with three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

Unlawful distribution of a controlled substance is a Class B felony, and is punishable by up to 20 years in prison upon conviction, according to Alabama law.

According to his arrest warrants, Jolly allegedly distributed amphetamine at two locations on Oct. 2, 2014: Once in the 1500 block of Alabama 70 in Columbiana and another time in the 9100 block of Alabama 119 in Alabaster.

Jolly also allegedly distributed amphetamine in the 9200 block of Alabama 119 in Alabaster on Oct. 7, 2014, according to his arrest warrants.

Amphetamine is a controlled substance stimulant, and includes prescription medications such as Adderall.

As of July 23, Jolly was being held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $30,000. He did not yet have a future court date listed.

According to court records, he has previously pleaded guilty in Shelby County to charges of first-degree receiving stolen property, speeding and driving with a suspended license.
