PICKETT CONSTRUCTION
In 2002, longtime Alabaster residents Ricky and Cindy Pickett opened the family business, Pickett Construction, at 8101 Highway 119 South in Alabaster.
After many years of working for a local company that provided installation services such as roofing, siding, windows, etc., Pickett got his Alabama Home Builders License.
Pickett Construction LLC was quickly established.
This business is definitely a family business.
Ricky and Cindy are owners and love to help with the operation when their church involvement (The Branch at Mission Hills), five grandchildren and their activities, or other commitments do not interfere.
The business is well taken care of by son Josh and daughter Leah, who are both college grads.
Leah Pinion is the office manager/bookkeeper. She has two children, Elizabeth, age 7, and Charles, age 2.
Josh is head of marketing and is the general manager of the company.
The company has three builders and over 20 skilled craftsmen, most having been with the company for many years.
Ricky and Cindy’s other daughter Rikki Lowery has three children (Jacob age 17, Jarrod age 16 and Josie age 11).
She and husband Adam own Diesel Unlimited, which is located near Picket Construction.
All these family members are Thompson grads and have not left the “home area” for any extended length of time.
Leah’s husband, Chuck Pinion, joined the company business in 2013.
“We are known for all types of construction projects from repairs to new home construction,” Josh Pickett says. “Some people think of us as a ‘one stop shop.’ We can essentially convert the house you own into the house you want.”
Because the Picketts have been Alabaster residents for decades and their family is large, their business reach is wide, but Alabaster and Shelby County in particular attract the majority of their work.
A potential client can visit the Pickett Construction showroom and discuss their construction ideas.
Practicality and affordability will be thoroughly addressed.
“We are always glad to work closely with other companies,” Josh says. “When we are hired and the job is completed, we want our client to be completely satisfied with every aspect of the project.”
