COLUMBIANA– In the heart of downtown Columbiana, women now have another option to shop for unique clothing and accessories suited for women of all ages, sizes and styles.
On Friday, March 13, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the opening of Sassy Sisters Boutique at the new location on 100 Main Street.
Sassy Sisters Boutique owners and sisters Jo Ellen Ramsey and Kayren Owens have been running their original store in Helena for 18 months and a few months ago they agreed it was a good idea to open a second location.
“We started thinking about locations and since my sister was a retired Shelby County High School teacher that just became the focus of our thinking,” said Ramsey. “We thought that Columbiana being the small town atmosphere that we liked would be the most logical place and selection.”
With the help of Owen’s husband, the Columbiana store was decorated and designed in about three weeks.
Ramsey and Owens’ vision is for the store to be a place where all women can come and shop and to be a part of the community.
“Our goals are to have something for all women here and to be a part of this community and support the community because they’ve certainly supported us,” said Ramsey. “We want to become integrated and be a part of it.”
Columbiana Mayor Stancil Handley is glad to have the ladies business in town as well.
“As a city, we are delighted to have this boutique here in Columbiana,” Handley said at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The hours of operation for the boutique will be Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
