PELHAM – The Pelham City Council approved a resolution March 2 to dedicate the first sector and part of the second sector of the Grey Oaks subdivision in Pelham as public streets and rights-of-way.

Grey Oaks is a new home community comprised of nearly 50 houses located off Shelby County 11, across from the Wild Timber subdivision.

The resolution is based on the subdivision’s developer asking for the council to accept and approve the dedication of certain streets in Grey Oaks within city limits following the application of a surface seal coat.

“That becomes city property,” Pelham City Council President Rick Hayes said. “We maintain it going forward.”

Hayes said the subdivision has grown steadily since 2013, when he can remember it having only one house.

Construction of the second sector of Grey Oaks is underway.
