ALABASTER – Creek View Elementary School’s auditorium frequently was filled with thunderous cheers and applause on the morning of Feb. 27, as the school’s faculty members showcased their talents.
During the hour-and-a-half talent show, the school’s students watched their teachers and administrators showcase everything from drum solos to cheerleading routines. The teachers also presented the show for parents and community members the night before.
Physical education teacher Paul Anderton kicked off the performance with a drum solo to “Turn Down for What,” followed by a routine from teachers who were once cheerleaders.
Teachers Misty Grillo and Heather Lawley sang “Let it Go” from the movie “Frozen,” the third-grade teachers presented the “School Supply Rock,” and the first-grade teachers performed a synchronized swimming routine.
The school’s office staff and administrators performed a routine to “All the Wrinkled Ladies,” the second-grade teachers demonstrated what they would be if they weren’t teachers and the kindergarten teachers presented “Uptown Kindergarten.”
The school’s English language learners teachers presented the “Mexican Hat Dance,” and first-grade teacher Kathy Cunningham sang “Wind Beneath my Wings.”
Several teachers capped off the performance by donning glow sticks in the shape of stick figures and dancing in the dark auditorium, which had its windows covered for the event.
