COLUMBIANA–Columbiana citizens and beyond are encouraged to put on their best western gear and head to Main Street as the city of Columbiana is hosting the seventh annual Cowboy Day.
The day will start at 10 a.m. and there will be activities for all ages throughout the day until 3 p.m.
Some of the activities include exhibitions, live music, cowboy vendors, cowboy demonstrations, a chili cook-off, square dancing, food and craft vendors and more.
Some of the highlights of the day will include a high noon shootout on Main Street in front of the old museum and a cowboy parade to follow at 1 p.m.
Columbiana Mayor Stancil Handley loves to see everyone come out and enjoy themselves on a day that feels like you’re in the wild west.
“It’s a lot of fun and we’ll usually have a good crowd,” said Handley. “It’s the time of year that people want to get out of the house.”
There will be no motor driven vehicles allowed in the parade and anyone who wants to show up with a horse and ride around town can do so. There’s no pre-registering necessary.
The Cattleman’s Rodeo will take place the following week on Friday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, Feb. 28.
