HELENA–Helena High School has had a lot of success in various sports in the inaugural season of its sports programs and one of the reasons for success is the Helena Athletic Association.
The HAA’s mission is to raise funds to support Helena’s entire student athletic program according to their website.
The Night on the Town event will be Saturday, Feb. 21 from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. It will be held at 101 Oslo Circle in Birmingham in a night that will be filled with dinner, music and a silent auction.
Tickets for admission are currently on sale for $100 and may be purchased at Helenaathleticassociation.org. A $100 donation will admit two people.
Silent auction items are needed for the event and anyone interested in donating may contact Helenaathleticassociation@gmail.com.
Helena High School Athletic Director Watt Parker has been pleased with the way the sports programs have performed in their inaugural season and believes a big part has to do with parents and organizations like the athletic association who help support the programs.
“I really think it’s a tribute to our coaches and players,” said Parker. “A large portion of credit goes out to the city who stepped up and financed the programs and produced funding for weight rooms and things like that to get this first year going.”
The HAA is a 501(C3) non-profit organization.
